Music Program

Music plays a  big role at Abundant Waters. Guitar classes are in their 7th year, including now ukulele for K and 1st graders, beginning guitar for 2nd and 3rd graders, and intermediate guitar for 4th and 5th graders.

Violin and Cello instruction is now in its 3rd year at AW, thanks to our partnering with St. Luke’s Orchestra, a premier New York City based organization. Almost 60, out of our 120 children, are in these classes.

Chorus, taught by Katie Traxler, PS 51’s much acclaimed music teacher, touches another 20 of our children.

All together over two thirds of our children are learning music. We believe this helps develop children cognitively, emotionally, and inspires their overall well-being. We are so thankful to St. Luke’s Orchestra for bringing this special gift to Abundant Waters.
